Happy New Beer! This unofficial U.S. holiday celebrated on April 7th is in celebration of the day the sale of beer became legal for the first time in over 13 years. On the evening of April 6, 1933, people lined up outside breweries and taverns waiting for midnight when they would be able to legally purchase beer. Since then, the night of April 6 has been referred to as "New Beer's Eve". Come hear the story of the rise, rule and fall of the 18th Amendment. A compelling saga the goes far beyond tales of gangsters, bootleggers, and flappers.  (90 min)
