Your nine local library systems in Greater Cleveland invite you to participate in Northeast Ohio’s largest book club, One Community Reads. This year, we are reading and discussing the book Invisible Child: Poverty, Survival & Hope in an American City and learning about poverty in America.
Author and investigative journalist Andrea Elliott wrote Invisible Child after spending eight years following Dasani, a child in New York City, and her family who moved from shelter to shelter, battling persistent poverty and hunger in search of stability and a better life. Invisible Child provides a detailed report of the various institutional failures that impact the lives of children living in poverty every day. You can place this book on hold today.

One Community Reads is a collaboration among The City Club of Cleveland, Playhouse Square, and the nine local public library systems to create a shared reading experience for the Greater Cleveland community.
